Morristown, TN | May 25, 2017 - After a challenging and expensive April, which culminated with the Team Dirt Dog/Champion/Skyline # 24 Crate Late Model sustaining heavy damage on April 29th, the team decided to take a couple of weeks off to regroup and get things right. It was a good decision.
Getting back at it, Philip Thompson was fast off the trailer at the UCRA event last weekend at Tazewell. Thompson qualified fourth and charged to a second place finish in the rain shortened A-Main.
The team will carry that success into a huge Memorial Day weekend with the FASTRAK Touring Series. Team PTR will travel to 311 Speedway in Pine Hall, NC on Friday the 26th, Princeton Speedway (WV) on Saturday the 27th, and Wythe Raceway (VA) on Sunday. This will be the 12th annual Triple Crown, which consists of a mini points chase for the weekend's events. If they make it through all of that in one piece, they might race Monday night at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN.
Be sure to stop by the # 24 pits to say hello to Philip and grab some Dirt Dog Gear to support his team!
