Winnipeg, MB CAN | Aug. 6, 2017 - Team Dirt Dog was founded on the idea that talent, hard work and relentless persistence can still beat a fat wallet. We look for racers that embody the "Never Lift" Dirt Dog attitude on and off the track. Canadian racer, Rene "Mr. Excitement" Poluyko is one of our favorite success stories.

After winning 10 features plus a track and series championship with the Northern Super Trucks in just his third year behind the wheel, 43 year old Rene Poluyko elected to step up to the A-Mods this season. As luck would have it, a career change last winter would make his racing budget even smaller, so he had to get even better at doing more... with less.

After several rough weeks of the car running and/or handling poorly, Poluyko went to a Tuesday night practice session at Red River Co-op Speedway last week looking for answers. The solution came from one of Rene's sponsors, fellow Canadian racer Ward Imrie, who showed Poluyko the sweet spot for the set up and the results speak for themselves.

At Red River's Thursday Night Thunder, Rene drove from last to 3rd in his heat which put him on the outside pole for the feature. Rene hit the high side at the green flag and never moved off his line for 20 laps. You can watch the video in the comments to see that, with the exception of a last lap slider attempted by the # 29K, Poluko wired the field for his first career A-Mod Feature Win!!

In Victory Lane, Rene delighted the fans with his jubilation as he got so excited that he slipped and fell off his car, flat on his ass. We love this guy and are proud to call him a Dirt Dog!!
