Audrey Balmert Shows Steady Improvement in Pacific NW
Everson, WA | May 20, 2018 - After a rough first season in the 600 Micro Sprint division at Deming Speedway, Team Dirt Dog's Audrey Balmert changed just about everything over the winter. Balmert showed flashes of speed last year only to be hampered by mechanical gremlins, bad luck and a 6 week time out due to a crash that broke her wrist
As a teenager, Audrey's last name was Seratte. On her 18th birthday this year, she legally changed it to Balmert to honor her mother and stepfather. They also bought a brand new race car and went over their motor program with a fine tooth comb. The result of all that effort look very promising.
Even with just a couple of events in the books this year (rain outs), Balmert already feels much more comfortable in the car. Friday night, she timed in 14th out of 26 cars, won her heat and avoided trouble to finish 15th in a crash filled A-Main. We think that this is the year she's going to get her first Feature Win!
Stop by her pit stall at Deming Speedway to grab some Dirt Dog Gear and support our team!
