Selinsgrove, PA | June 6, 2017 - There is an old saying that if you continue to put yourself in good spots, good things will happen. That was the case for the A&A Auto Store Pro Stock winner. Team Dirt Dog's Shawn Lawton has been in contention all season long and finally overcame the challenges to pick up his first win on Saturday night. Lawton dominated the feature event running mostly unchallenged at the track where his father and grandfather both raced.
AJ Hoffman and Dustin Snook waged a tight battle for second while Lawton drove away. Hoffman won out on that battle to finish in the runner up spot.
Lawton had this to say about his first career Selinsgrove Speedway victory;
"Sunday, I woke up w a huge weight lifted of my mind and heart. Saturday was an absolutely amazing night at Selinsgrove Speedway for me, my family and our beloved team. We started 6th in heat race and won, started 8th in main event and we WON!!! We finally won in a stock car at the track with so much deeply rooted history and tradition for my family.
It's been a long time since we won a race but our Campbell chassis w Mapco engine was dialed in with our Campbell race technology shocks keeping me straight and driving forward! Thanks to USAVE auto rental, A&M storage, Vial's auto tech, Mapco racing engine, Campbell chassis, Campbell shock technology and LRV motorsports!!
From bottom of my heart I want to thank everyone that has supported me on this journey towards pulling into victory lane at Selinsgrove Speedway. So many friends and family there to cheer for us and it fulfilled a deep, personal dream of mine to see so many people waiting for me and wanting pics together. I want to thank Kira for being there even we were both feeling pretty ill. And everyone that has helped in any way or said anything positive to me over my racing career. My grandfather and my son "Bo" were watching over me last night from there front row seats in heaven! Thank you everyone."

Selinsgrove Speedway returns to racing action at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 10, hosting the finale to the Appalachian Mountain Late Model Speedweek Series plus 360 sprint cars and pro stocks. Track gates will open at 5 p.m. The 40-lap super late model main event will pay $4,000 to win.
